Vietnam temporarily suspends the issuance of visa on arrivals to travels from all nationalities

Vietnam is suspending visa on arrival for all travelers in the world from March 15. Diplomatic and business travelers are excluded from the travel ban, which will last 30 days, but face health checks and possible quarantines, the statement said. The decision follows Vietnam’s suspension of visa waivers for nine European countries.  Any foreign visitors intending to enter Vietnam during the period may contact the nearest Embassy/Consulate of Vietnam to be granted with visa stamp in advance.

Government is also suspending tourist visa for people who have been in the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland and Schengen countries 15 days prior to their planned arrival starting 12:00 pm on Mar 15 because the novel coronavirus outbreak, according to the  a statement on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website. The ban includes those who come from these regions.

In addition, Vietnam Airlines announced that they will not carry passengers on return flight to Vietnam from London, Paris and Frankfurt beginning Mar 15. Flights scheduled to depart those cities will land at Van Don and Can Tho airport, where passengers will be quarantined.

In Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam, popular among tourists, authorities ordered the closing of cinemas, massage salons, bars, karaoke bars, beer clubs and discotheques from 6p.m to deal with the spread of deadly coronavirus.
